The Varsity Tennis season kicked off this week in their first match against Out-of-Door Academy. This year, Shorecrest’s home courts are at the St. Pete Tennis Center.
Peter L. had a quick win in the top spot, dropping only one game. He then paired with Jack L. in doubles, and again only lost one, winning 8-1. The number two doubles team of Luis S. and Chase R. had a close match, and clenched the win with 8-6.
ODA gave the girls quite a challenge as their first match. Tiffany B. fought hard, but was defeated 6-8. Both doubles teams suffered defeat after many long points. This should be the toughest school they face all season.
