Book Character Clubs Start in First Grade

The first graders are adventuring off into a new study during Reading Workshop! They eagerly started Book Character Clubs this week. The students were placed into small groups where they will read and get to know many characters. They will also be discussing the characters with their club members.
This type of reading promotes text-to-text and text-to-self connections. The students are so excited to work with their peers and look forward to meeting a variety of characters!
