Kindergarten Guest Reader

The kindergarten classes enjoyed Coach Wolfrath's reading of Jonathan London's Froggy Plays Soccer. Coach Wolfrath previously worked with the kindergarten team and as a third grade teacher here at Shorecrest. He always enjoyed reading aloud to the children.
In our Reading and Writing Workshop units we are currently using this series of books to guide our work. The whole class is in the Froggy book club and independently the children are reading in small book clubs to study characters, setting, problems and solutions. The children have studied the many elements found in Johnathan London's writing which make his stories so much fun to read. They are writing their own Froggy adventures while incorporating some of these elements.
