Shorecrest Swim & Dive Continues Winning Ways

Athletics

The Middle School squad traveled to Berkeley Prep to compete against three other teams in a fun and spirited Relay Meet. The girls finished second and the boys were fourth. We definitely won for school spirit (even though there was no award) and Coach Sam rewarded them with Rice Krispie treats on Friday for their efforts.

Despite the weather and a team depleted by ACT test takers, Shorecrest was able to bring home trophies for a 6th place boys finish and a 5th place combined overall finish at this year’s Total Team Wares Relay Challenge Meet. Chargers also won the 1A Spirit award.

Boys:
Shorecrest 90, St. Petersburg Catholic 17

Girls:
Shorecrest 95, St. Petersburg Catholic 35

On another rainy evening, Shorecrest triumphed over St. Petersburg Catholic High School winning just about every event on both sides.

The boys took all three relays: 200 Medley (Misha M., Pablo C., Ethan F. and Jack L.); 200 Free and 400 Free (Felix S., Corey C., Joseph B., Jake A.). Winning two events each were: Felix S. (200 and 500 Free) and Corey C. (200 IM and 100 Breast). Taking first in one event each were: Dominic H. (diving), Misha M. (100 Fly), Pablo C. (100 Free)and David S. (100 Back).

On the girls side, the Chargers were winners in all three relays with the 200 Medley comprised of Reagan Q., Taylor Anne N., Clara W. and Emery C. and the 200 and 400 Free relays personnel of Courtney C., Hannah B., Taylor E. and Meredith L. Winning two events each were: Courtney C. (200 Free and 100 Back) and Meredith L. (100 Fly and 500 Free). Scoring first place points in one event each were: Hannah B. (200 IM), Emery C. (50 Free), Sophie E. (Diving), Clara W. (100 Free) and Taylor E. (100 Breast).

Another great job by Shorecrest Swim & Dive!
