Day of the Dead Spanish 3rd and 4th grade

Last week the third and fourth graders celebrated El Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) in Spanish class. Together they made an altar and the children learned what each item decorating the altar meant. Each student remembered a loved one - family member or pet - who passed away. It was a wonderful activity and they learned and understood why this holiday is celebrated in Latin America.
