Outdoor Club Welcomes Jennifer Pharr Davis

Parents and friends may join us for next Monday’s third and final Willis Leadership Lecture. We are honored to welcome to campus Jennifer Pharr Davis, long-distance hiker, author and National Geographic Adventurer of the Year. In 2011, speed hiker Jennifer Pharr Davis broke the overall record on the Appalachian Trail. She did it by hiking, not running—an innovation all her own. The 2,181-mile trail took her 46 days, 11 hours and 20 minutes. That's an average of 47 miles a day! (And she saw 36 bears.)
She will be speaking to our students about self-worth, persistence and achieving one’s goals. Here is a link to more information about Ms. Pharr Davis.
