Second grade has been studying various landmarks throughout the world. The study launched with a tour through St. Petersburg seeing and learning about all of the remarkable landmarks the city had to offer. Then they headed to the Don CeSar hotel to get an in-depth look at one of St. Petersburg's most recognizable landmarks. After lots of field experience and many guest experts, second graders collaborated in small groups to create their own innovative landmark. They had to think about where this landmark would be located, along with why it is unique, why it's important and how it affects the environment.
This week, students presented their unique landmarks at an Innovative Landmarks Project Exhibit and they did an amazing job! They displayed lots of creativity and expertise, and many families left wondering if these landmarks really exist.
