Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year!

The Shorecrest Community Association (SCA) Board is excited to start this transformative year at Shorecrest. All parents, guardians, grandparents and community members are members of SCA. The SCA Board and its committee Chairs provide volunteer support for our teachers, plan and host fundraising and social events, and host meetings where speakers are invited to present to our community. SCA invites all community members to volunteer and help Shorecrest “Be More!” Join us by viewing all the volunteer opportunities here, or signing up here.
(Both files can be found in the future on the SCA page of the website: www.shorecrest.org/sca.)

We are looking forward to a fantastic school year!

Getting Involved:

Please contact Samantha Nevins at [email protected] for help in finding the right volunteer position for your interests, talents and busy schedule. A year-long volunteer calendar may be found on the SCA page of Shorecrest.org.

Some Opportunities for Parent Volunteers:

  • Planning is already under way for Fall Festival on October 26. This is a much-loved day of our youngest Chargers. If parents of MS and US students help out, parents of little ones can spend the morning with their children. Be a part of one of the most memorable, festive Shorecrest traditions! Contact Marielle Westerman at [email protected].
  • Experiential School morning carline - 7:25-7:55am every day. Assist students out of cars whenever you are available. Contact Rebecca Armacost: [email protected]
  • Booster Club - Taking entry fees at the gate of an athletic event. (If parents of little ones volunteer then parents of athletes can enjoy watching their student-athlete compete.) View a schedule here. Contact Chris Barrott, Booster Club Vice President: [email protected].
  • Shorecrest Cares is a committee that helps those in need in our community in various ways. Some of the tasks include providing meals, babysitting, carpooling, setting up a luncheon for faculty, etc. We are there to support families going through a hard time, a new move, etc. Please consider joining this compassionate group of people! Contact Kristin Leary: [email protected]. Kristin will be reaching out to the committee at the end of August.
  • Book Buddies - keep library shelves in order. Meets twice/month. OK to bring little ones. Contact Christina LeBlanc: [email protected]; or Sydney Legakis:  [email protected].
  • Helping Hands - Assisting teachers with whatever is needed: laminating, cutting, gluing, odds and ends... Usually once per week. Contact Robin Wood: [email protected].
