A recognition ceremony for Shorecrest senior athlete Renice Dacres '19, who has surpassed 1,000 career points for Chargers Girls Basketball, will be held at halftime during the Boys Varsity Basketball game on Friday, December 7. The ceremony will begin at 8pm.

Renice Dacres '19 hit a major milestone on Wednesday night, as she scored - then surpassed - her 1,000th point for the Chargers. She hit the 1,000-point mark in a home game against St. Stephen's Episcopal School. The Chargers won 45-35; Dacres scored 25. She currently averages 21.4 points, 13 rebounds, and 4.4 blocks per game. Dacres is only the second female athlete to achieve this feat in the school's 95-year history.

In addition to playing basketball, Renice is a formidable force for Chargers Track & Field. She has won a number of awards for her contributions to both sports including team MVP for basketball and from track and field in 2016-17 and again in 2017-18. She has been a State qualifier for the long jump for three consecutive years, 2016-2018. In 2018 she won the Fran Risser Award for Most Outstanding Female Student Athlete.

The Girls Varsity Basketball Chargers' next game is Friday, December 7, against Calvary Christian School in the Crisp Gym at 6pm.
