Welcome New Baseball Coach, 8th grade boys Meeting

Mark Anthony Persails joins Shorecrest as the new Varsity Baseball Head Coach. Born in Michigan, Persails was a high school all-state, first team selection in baseball, basketball and football. He enrolled at Saginaw Valley State University prior to signing with the Detroit Tigers in the 34th round of the 1994 MLB June Amateur Draft. He played five seasons in the Detroit Tiger organization (AAA), two seasons in the Houston Astros organization (AA) and four seasons in independent organizations. Following his retirement from professional baseball, Persails worked as an associate scout for the Cleveland Indians, an assistant coach at Southeastern University and a head coach for Plant City High School.

Coach Persails says, "I'm looking forward to getting this start and am happy to be a part of the Shorecrest family."
 

All eighth grade boys who are interested in baseball are invited to meet Coach Persails at the Hernandez Family Baseball Field on Saturday, August 24, at 1:30pm for a workout and evaluation.
