Shorecrest will once again offer the opportunity for interested third and fourth grade students to learn to play a wind or percussion instrument. After school Beginning Band will start September 2022.
Beginning Band will meet two days / week (days to be determined) from 3-4pm, concurrently with after school clubs. The program will run for 12 weeks. Lessons will be taught by Ethan Updike, Upper School Band Director; Roberto Burón, Lower School Music Teacher; and Esther Brier.
Students will need to provide their instruments (information about rentals will be forthcoming) and the method book. Students may select an instrument from:
FLUTE, CLARINET, ALTO SAXOPHONE, TRUMPET, TROMBONE, BARITONE, AND PERCUSSION.
A “Show & Tell” to familiarize families with the instruments and the physical requirements for each instrument will be Thursday, August 25, at 3:15pm in the Lower School Music Room, which is located in the Raymund Center.
Please email Esther Brier at [email protected] by Monday, August 22, if your child is interested in joining. You may also email Esther any questions you may have. We will then set a date for the information meeting.
