Contributing Chargers: The Ritchie Family of American Integrity Insurance Group
Shorecrest’s Mission is augmented by the generosity of our parents, grandparents, alumni, and friends who support the school philanthropically or by effecting change locally, globally or right here at Shorecrest. We call these community members Contributing Chargers.
This year American Integrity Insurance Group proudly supported Shorecrest as the Presenting Sponsor of the Shorecrest Gala.
The Ritchie Family, of American Integrity Insurance Group, has been Contributing Chargers of Shorecrest since joining the community in 2018. Jon Ritchie serves as the Chief Operating Officer, and Abby Ritchie is the Senior Vice President and responsible for Business Development. Jon and Abbie are parents to Lower School students Natalie '33 and Michael '35 Bob Ritchie is the President & CEO. He, along with wife Donna, are proud Chargers Grandparents.
Abby has volunteered at Shorecrest in a variety of ways; among them were the Advancement Committee, Shorecrest Fund Council, and even co-chair of SCA's Big Event. She currently participates as a Lower School Parent Rep.
We asked Abby and Jon to share their Contributing Chargers story and explain why they find it important to give back to Shorecrest by way of corporate sponsorship and volunteer time.
What do you enjoy most about being part of this community?
Shorecrest Preparatory School is a school where learners are nurtured, but not coddled. They feel protected but are encouraged to explore and take challenges. It’s a place where they spend their formative years with people who care about them and want them to evolve into the very best version of themselves. Shorecrest is almost like a home away from home for our children, and a true sense of community for their loved ones.
The academic and scholastic achievements of Shorecrest Preparatory School students are extremely admirable, but what sets this institution apart is its ability to develop the whole person – empathetic individuals who are well-equipped for college and beyond.
What drew you to become a Sponsor?
American Integrity was proud to sponsor the Shorecrest Gala, especially as Shorecrest celebrated its first 100 years of success. The academic and scholastic achievements of Shorecrest students are extremely admirable, but what sets this institution apart is its ability to develop the whole person – empathetic individuals who are well-equipped for college and beyond.
How do you think your gift will impact current and future Shorecrest students?
We are hopeful that our gift will allow current and future Shorecrest students to continue to thrive and find their purpose and passion in life. From academics to technology, sports and the arts, Shorecrest offers so many outlets for students to find what moves them. Our gift is given with the hope that all students can take advantage of the myriad opportunities that the School has to offer.
Please share something you are looking forward to as we step into our second century:
As a guiding force in the lives of countless accomplished community and corporate leaders who have made meaningful contributions to society, we look forward to the continued success of this storied school and its students and alumni, as the second century of Shorecrest Preparatory School’s tradition begins.
The impact of Contributing Chargers like Abby and Jon Ritchie, along with other members of our community, can be felt every day. To share a Contributing Chargers story email Olivia Segalman, Associate Director of Advancement for Community Engagement & Events: [email protected].
