Florida Scholastic Press Association Honorees
Out of thousands of entries across the state of Florida, four staff writers for The Chronicle, Shorecrest’s Upper School student newspaper and newsblog, recently won a rating of All-Florida from the Florida Scholastic Press Association for stories written in 2023. Florida Scholastic Press Association is Florida's leading scholastic news organization. They acknowledge excellence in journalism every year and honor winners at their annual convention in Orlando. Students will also be entered for Best of the Best awards at the convention.
“Winning this award is so significant to me because it is a validation of my passion for writing,” shared writer Grace Manning ‘25. “While in the process of writing this feature about the resurgence of vinyl records, I was able to broaden my knowledge on vinyls, leading to me having a deeper appreciation for them. Having the privilege to write about a topic that excites and interests me means so much, and winning an award for that story means even more. Winning this award is a reminder to keep doing what I love.”
