Meeting with Amazing Authors

Last week Shorecrest Kindergarten, first, and second grade students had the incredible opportunity to participate in a virtual event with Newbery and Emmy Award-winning author Kwame Alexander. Hosted in the Janet Root Theatre, the virtual visit featured a surprise guest, six-time Emmy Award winner and beloved author Mo Willems, famous for his Elephant & Piggy, Pigeon, and Knuffle Bunny series. Mo Willems even shared his latest book, "Will the Pigeon Graduate?", which was released just last week.

A few students in Mrs. Carson's first grade came up with a question for the author together: "How long have you been writing books?" Another question that was asked by a second grade class was, "How many books have you published?"

It was a fantastic experience that all were excited about.
