American Mathematics Competitors
In early November, 17 Shorecrest Upper School students participated in the extremely challenging AMC (American Mathematics Competitions) test. The 70-minute national exam is given to students looking to participate in the World Mathematics Olympiad.
The AMC 10 is for students in tenth grade and below and covers the high school curriculum up to tenth grade. The AMC 12 covers the entire high school curriculum, including trigonometry, advanced algebra, and advanced geometry, but excluding calculus. Students in grade 12 or below and under 19.5 years of age on the day of the contest can take the AMC 12.
Please congratulate the top finishers from the Shorecrest students who participated when you see them! Students will be given word in the coming weeks whether their score allows them to proceed to the next round of competition.
