Track & Field at Regionals: Chargers Girls 2nd, Boys 11th

Athletics Upper School News

The Shorecrest Chargers Varsity Track and Field team advanced many athletes to the Regional meet after dominating the District events. On May 9 they traveled south to IMG Academy for the Regional Meet. The top two finishers in all events at Regionals automatically advance to the State Meet. Other competitors need to be in the top 10 marks/times across all Regions in their events to qualify. After a very long day of competition, the boys team placed 11th overall out of 34 teams and the girls team had an impressive showing with a 2nd place overall finish! The Chargers really showed heart with many athletes setting personal records.

Next up is the State Meet in Jacksonville on May 15 at Jax Track at Hodges Stadium 1 UNF Dr, Jacksonville, FL 32224. Tickets are $14 in advance and $17 at the gate: UNF Athletics Ticketing. Cash will not be accepted.
