Art Hiding in Plain Site

The project Hidden in Plain Site challenged students in all levels of US 3D Design classes to make a location-specific sculpture using a limited amount of studio materials (wire, twine, and plyers) and an unlimited amount of natural materials, such as twigs and leaves.
For inspiration we viewed the works of Andy Goldsworthy, Roxy Paine and Patrick Dougherty.
After creating armatures from wire, students trepidatiously headed outdoors to add color and create volume from natural items they found on the ground around campus.
The sculptures were meant to both blend into their surroundings and pop out from nature. In this way, it would be a reward for those who saw the sculptures, and possibly encourage a heightened awareness of space we are so familiar with, which perhaps we take for granted.
See if you can find our subtle sculptures - they'll only be visible for about a week.
