Upper School News

Throughout the month of November, you may have noticed things getting a little hairy up in the College Center. Not because of test scores or acceptance letters... but because a group of upper school students decided to take part in Movember! By not shaving and changing their appearance for the 30 days of November, Mo-Bros hope to spark conversations to raise funds for men's health issues such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health problems.

In a recent Upper School assembly, students voted by round of applause for their favorite Mo Bro beard. Senior Kenny D was the clear winner!

This month, some of the Upper School girls are taking part in Dressember. By wearing a dress every day in the month of December, they are taking a stand to show that women can be feminine and should still receive equal rights.

The Dressember Foundation raised over $165K last year by using fashion to advocate for women who've been exploited for their femininity. Dressember aligned with International Justice Mission, a human rights organization that works to rescue victims of slavery, sexual exploitation, and other forms of violent oppression. One of our own seniors, Madi F, has a foundation supporting the abolition of modern day slavery and assisting Tampa Bay area victims of human trafficking. Unfortunately, we live in one of the top areas known for this violent crime against human rights.
