Students Tour All Florida Orthopaedic Associates

Have you ever wondered what happens "behind the scenes" at your doctor's office? Lisa Peck's Anatomy and Physiology students, as well as her Intro to Medical Science students, got the opportunity to tour All Florida Orthopaedic Associates' impressive facility on Fourth Street and find out.

The goal of their orthopaedics office is convenience for the patient; a "one stop" facility which includes on-site physical and occupational therapy as well as imaging facilities. In addition, some outpatient surgical procedures can be performed in their operating rooms located in the facility. Students were welcomed early one morning before patients arrived to take a private tour.

Dr. Canizares, who is board certified in Orthopaedic Surgery specializing in Sports Medicine as well as a Shorecrest Parent, discussed orthopedics, the facilty and even the business side of medicine with the students.
