

Shorecrest, Jack and Jill Inc. to Host HBCU College Fair

The Suncoast Chapter Teens of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. will host its inaugural Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) College Fair from 1pm-5pm on Sunday, September 17, at Shorecrest Preparatory School in St. Petersburg.
This free community event will feature college recruiters and alumni representing over 30 HBCUs including Howard University, Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College, Fisk University, Tennessee State, Edward Waters College, Florida Memorial and Florida A&M University. Attendees will also hear from a panel of recent HBCU graduates. Panelists will discuss their college experience, while highlighting the importance of higher education at an HBCU. All students are encouraged to participate and speak with representatives about admissions, financial aid, testing, majors and more.
The event is hosted at Shorecrest Preparatory School, located at 5101 1st St. NE in St. Petersburg. “College placement and success is a core part of our mission,” says Shorecrest Headmaster Mike Murphy. “ Shorecrest is pleased to partner with Jack and Jill Inc. to put on this important event.”

- 12:30pm - Registration opens (Lobby of Shorecrest Athletic Center)
- 1:00pm - College Fair begins (Rec Gym in Shorecrest Athletic Center): HBC College, Fraternity and Sorority Reps meet with students and families
- 4:00pm - HBCU Alumni Panel Discussion (Janet Root Theatre)
