Shorecrest track and field Chargers went down to St. Stephens in Bradenton for the District meet last Thursday, April 11. Unlike last year, the weather was great and the competitions began on time. The field events were first on the schedule of the day.

There were some outstanding performances! RJ Ayers '19 improved on his shot put school record by more than a foot, throwing 46-9 meters to take second. Trevor Bernstein '19 also bettered his own pole vault record with a clearance of 13-10.5 meters to win the District title. Other District champions included Andrea Romero '20 for pole vault, Reagan Quilty '19 for the 3200m run, and Renice Dacres '19 in the long jump.

After many more contributions to the girls team from various athletes, the Chargers were able to win the 1A district 7 title with a strong showing! The boys team also placed well, finishing 3rd overall out of 11 teams.
