Shorecrest School

Freshman Trip to Busch Gardens

Upper School News

This week 80 Shorecrest ninth graders visited Busch Gardens for a physics field experience.

The students had an opportunity to investigate how velocity, acceleration, and conservation of energy apply to roller coasters. Students created videos and took pictures for their physics assignments. The Chargers were easy to spot around the theme park by their Physics Ninjas T-Shirts.

Upper School Spanish Teacher Al Irwin said the following of the ninth grade class, "At the close of the day, Mr. and Mrs. Gende and I were in one of the gift shops, and a lady came up to us to ask who we were. When we told her, she promptly spoke of how well behaved and polite you [the students] all were while she saw you many times throughout the day. This is incredible feedback to have from the greater community. Not only did you make yourselves look good, you made our school community shine! You were all outstanding ambassadors today, and we all truly appreciate it."
