Congratulations to Aivey Wiggins '23, who won an Upper School Outstanding Playwright award this week, and Mila Salamone '22 who was named Outstanding Filmmaker.
Aivey Wiggins '23 won honors this year including Critic's Choice-Honorable Mention in Playwriting at District Thespians for her one-act, THE ORCHARD, about a disillusioned teacher and writer being approached by a mysterious teenager in a coffee shop who ends up inspiring him to return to his writing. (Aivey was due to compete at States before it was canceled.)
She also received a Silver Key in the Dramatic Script category from Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. Her screenplay about a teenage boy suffering from mental illness who keeps seeing a ominous figure everywhere he goes, but cannot be sure whether it is real or an illusion, was one of the strongest pieces written this year.

Mila also developed a documentary about Headmaster Mike Murphy's tenure at Shorecrest.
