Four Seniors Successfully Defend GSI Thesis Projects
The last two weeks have been busy for seniors in the Global Scholars Initiative program. Matthew Danielson '20, Ryan Healy '20, Asher Rovin '20, and Lucas Murphy '20 all defended their thesis projects via Zoom. GSI Board members and students asked questions after the completion of each presentation.
Some highlights include: Matthew’s interview with Dr. Hamm, a retired criminology professor at Indiana State University. Ryan Healy used her French language expertise to explain the importance of translation in social movements. Asher Rovin and Lucas Murphy ended their presentation by noting a $1,000 donation from the Spanish Club and GSI to La Casa de fe in Ecuador.
Below are the titles of each thesis presentation:
Matthew Danielson '20: “The Internet, Radicalization, and Terror Attacks in the 21st Century”
Ryan Healy '20: “A Cultural Conversation: Me Too and Sex Education in the US and France”
Lucas Murphy '20 and Asher Rovin '20: “Ecuador: The Role of the Church and State in the Institutionalization of Abandoned Children”
