Hydrogen Generator Demonstration

Upper School News

Sophomore Kevin Tang went the extra mile for a group presentation on hydrogen for his chemistry class. Kevin researched how to build a working hydrogen generator, and successfully built one! When an electric current is passed through water, H2O, the water will split into molecules of hydrogen and oxygen gas. Kevin demonstrated to the class that the reaction occurred by passing the evolved gasses through rubber tubing into a beaker of soapy water to help visualize the gas passing through the solution.
