Food Drive benefiting The Kind Mouse

Approximately 25% of the people in our county do not know when they will eat next or how much food they will have. Weekends are particularly troublesome for children who are not in school where they often receive free meals. To address this problem, The Kind Mouse sends home snack food with Pinellas-area children on Friday afternoons called Mouse Nibbles.
Shorecrest is once again hosting a food drive to contribute Mouse Nibbles. The Lower School will be officially kicking off the drive on Friday, October 22, and The Experiential School will be part of the project too. The young Chargers will learn about how The Kind Mouse helps to feed food-insecure children in Pinellas County.
Each grade level has been assigned a specific food item to bring in. Please donate as much as you can during the food drive. They also need clean, plastic grocery bags with no holes.
Over 20,000 servings of food (2,5461.12 pounds) were donated by Upper School students! - Alpha and JK: fruit cups and applesauce
- Kindergarten: fruit snacks and individual-size cereal
- First grade: granola bars, protein bars, and cracker packs (such as Lance)
- Second grade: pudding cups, gelatin cups and single-serve peanut butter cups
- Third grade: Vienna sausages, single-serving pasta, tuna pouches or Beanee Weenees
- Fourth grade: jars of baby food for the Mouse Babies distribution
