Congrats Gold Medalist Maddie Childress '25

The USAG Florida State Championship was held in Wesley Chapel this past weekend and Maddie Childress '25 competed against a field of 144 of the top Level 9 female gymnasts from across the State.
Maddie had an amazing day and in addition to winning the gold medal in all individual events (Floor, Uneven Bars, Vault and Beam), she won the All Around gold medal within her group and was the highest scoring Level 9 gymnast in Florida. Her All Around score at the Florida Championship was the 5th highest Level 9 score in the entire US for the 2022 season. (For those not as familiar with gymnastics, the beam is only 4 inches wide and approximately 4 feet off the floor.)
The competitive season has concluded in Florida, and Maddie now advances to the USAG Region 8 Championship where she will compete against the top gymnasts from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee the weekend of April 23.
