Kayelin Leonhirth and Danielle Hernandez dance with the Florida Orchestra

Kayelin Leonhirth '18 and Danielle Hernandez '19 recently danced with the Florida Orchestra in the 29th Annual Steinbrenner Family Children's Holiday Concerts. The Steinbrenner Family and the New York Yankees host the Holiday Concerts, which consist of free performances at Ruth Eckerd Hall, the Straz Performing Arts Center and the Mahaffey Theatre for over 5,000 Tampa Bay area at-risk children. The concerts, which are intended to bring holiday spirit to the children, are hosted by Shorecrest alumni parents John and Mary K. Wilson and feature performances by the Florida Orchestra and Ballet Theater International, as well as a visit from Santa Claus. Shorecrest’s Cheryl Lee is the resident choreographer.
Celebrity appearances included Yankees greats Tino Martinez at Ruth Eckerd Hall, Andrew Schwaab and Larry Rothschild at the Straz Center, and Adam Warren at the Mahaffey Theater, who all read "‘Twas the Night Before Christmas."
Afterwards, each child received gifts given by the Steinbrenner Family, law enforcement officers, members of the cast and Yankees players.
