Learn about Fourth Grade Band

This week was host to the Fourth Grade Instrument Petting Zoo. This was an opportunity for Band Director Mr. Updike and Ms. Marilyn, LS Music Teacher, to guide students in trying the different instruments offered in Fourth Grade Band.

We still have a few weeks before class, but your child will need an instrument as well as a book. The instrument choices for Fourth Grade Band are: flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, trumpet, trombone, and percussion. Please visit local music store and Shorecrest partner, Bringe Music, for instrument rentals. Rental contracts can be done online or in-store. Please be sure to also order Essential Elements: Book 1 for the instrument that they choose, available at Bringe Music and Amazon.

Note: If your child plans on joining Rock Band in the future, they must take Fourth Grade Band.
