Your Voice is Power Top Honors Awards

This year in Introduction to Engineering, Programming, and Robotics class, Upper School students were challenged to enter the Your Voice is Power competition presented by Amazon Future Engineer, Georgia Tech, and Yellow. 

Your Voice is Power provides students an introduction to the fundamentals of computer science through a real-world exploration of how music, coding, and entrepreneurship can be used as tools to advance racial justice. Students were challenged to compose a unique musical remix using songs from top recording artists including “Entrepreneur" by Pharrell Williams, while incorporating their own message on racial justice and equity.

Three Shorecrest Upper School students were awarded Top Honors in music, coding, and messaging by a panel of industry professionals, placing in the top 100 of all submissions. Congratulations to Yvonne Lin ‘22, Ava Peters ‘25, and Taylor Register ‘23!
