CHARGERS SWIM & DIVE WINS BAY CONFERENCE

Athletics

Swim & Dive Chargers were big winners in this year’s Bay Conference meet held in conjunction with the Tampa Bay Classic Invitational.

Girls conference champions were: 200 Medley Relay (Meredith L., Hannah B., Taylor E. and Clara W.), Taylor E. (200 IM, 100 Fly), Meredith L. (50 & 100 Free),  Sophie E. (Diving), 200 Free Relay (Elizabeth F., Reagan Q., Sylvia S., Emery C.), Hannah B. (100 Breast), 400 Free Relay (Hannah B., Taylor E., Clara W. , Meredith L.). Congrats to senior Meredith L who won the 100 free in 53.55 seconds, setting a Tampa Bay Classic record in the process - adding to the other 3 records Shorecrest Chargers hold.

On the boys side, conference leaders were:  200 Medley Relay (Corey C., Pablo C., Felix S., Jake A), Misha M. (200 Free), Pablo C. (200 IM, 100 Breast), Jake A. (50 Free), Dominic H. (Diving), Felix S. (100 Fly, 500 Free), 200 Free Relay (Joseph B, Jack L., PJ F., Pablo C), Corey C. (100 Back), 400 Free Relay (Jake A., Corey C., Joseph B., Felix S). Great job by the team to earn that banner for the gym!

Our Middle School team was back in action last week and finished second to Berkeley in the Canterbury hosted meet. Louise C. (50 Fly), Evan H. (50 Fly) and Brenna D. (50 Back) were all individual first place finishers. All of the swimmers continued to drop time in events or completed an event that they had not yet tackled, so a great meet by all.
At this point in the season, the team already has five new Middle School records.  Congratulations to Joseph B. for breaking record in the 50 Free, 100 Fly and 200 IM and to David S. for taking down the 50 and 100 Breast records.

On the boys side, Corey C. (200 Free), Jake A. (50  Free), Dominic H. (diving) and Joseph B. (500 Free) were able to win their events, competing against two very tough teams.

The girls won two of the three relays with both the 200 Medley and 400 Free staffed by: Hannah B., Courtney C., Taylor E. and Meredith L. Taylor E. won both of her events (200 IM and 100 Fly) and Meredith L. (100 Free) and Courtney C. (100 Breast) each won one. Another great job by a great team!
