For the first time this year, the 5th graders are published authors. They journeyed through the writing process (brainstorming, prewriting, drafting, revising, editing and publishing) to produce articles similar to the ones we studied during our Nonfiction Studies Unit. They pondered long-term goals and then wrote about themselves in the future, achieving one goal. They were to write in 3rd person about themselves with a specific format that included one quote.

All of the students did a fabulous job writing, but more importantly they have BIG GOALS they want to achieve... as they leap with purpose!
