Sixth grader Cal B competed in the city-wide speech competition against other 6-8 graders in the area at St Pete High this week. The Rotary Club of St Petersburg sponsors the event to encourage speech writing and public speaking skills in middle school students.
The theme this year was "What do I have to be optimistic about in today's world?" Cal placed among the Top Four and has been invited to present his speech again at the Rotary Club luncheon next Friday. The top winner will be announced during the luncheon. Congratulations to Cal!
