Jar Wars supports Annual Fund

Middle School News

The Shorecrest Annual Fund has been a huge success this year with 100% of the faculty contributing and nearly 80% of families participating, but the Middle School students wondered how they could be a part of the school's fundraising... The fifth and sixth grade SLACers (Student Leadership Action Committee) came up with a great idea: JAR WARS!

Students were encouraged to empty some of the change from their piggy banks, sift through the "junk drawer" in the kitchen, check under couch cushions, or the floor mats in the car to find loose change. They then attempted to fill a jar with coins in a fun competition between advisory teams. In just one week, some of the advisory teams had 100% participation, and the fifth and sixth graders raised over $331 for the Annual Fund! Way to support your school, Sher Center students!
