As a culminating project for their SMath (Science+Math) Measurement unit, fifth graders created a Measurement Olympiad. They brainstormed real olympic events, discussed how they are measured, and shared ideas for their own events that could be effectively administered in the Middle School quad.
After submitting a proposal to the Olympic Comittee (Mrs. Howell and Ms. Willis), students tested their ideas and refined the execution.
FINALLY, each fourth grade class visited the Middle School as Olympians. The fifth graders loved leading the fourth graders through their activities and trials, and the fourth graders are excited to create their own SMath Olympics next year!
