Six sixth grade and seven seventh grade students went with Mr. Powers last Friday to the St. Petersburg Science Festival. There they volunteered and worked at several different booths helping teach younger students from all over the Bay area. The mission of the event is to show that learning science can be fun, to showcase the wonders of science, relate how science fits into the larger context of modern everyday life, and to connect the public with scientists for a direct translation. The Festival also provides opportunities for research and science professionals to engage in public outreach related to STEAM careers and diverse research endeavors.
