The Shorecrest Chargers Girls Basketball season begins on October 29. If you have a daughter in Middle School or Upper School, the team wants your help in building a new program.
Everyone will be on the team regardless of their experience or skill level. This year, no students will be cut from the team to allow for education, development, and opportunities for success for as many students as possible. The team will be competitive in regards to playing time, however players will be provided opportunity for real-life application to help them see success of mastery of concepts taught in practice.
The Chargers will have at least one Middle School team, with the possibility of two teams based on need. There will also be a Varsity team.
A mandatory meeting for all interested girls will be held on October 18 at 6:30pm in the Crisp Gym. Students and parents can meet the coaches, learn about the program and its goals, find out what is expected of players, view important dates, and ask the coaching staff questions. A pizza dinner will be provided, so please stay and get to know the team and coaches.
On Friday, October 26 at 4pm, the girls basketball program will host a Media Day! All students who will be a part of the program will be expected to attend and will have their uniforms issued. A photographer will take photos of our players and coaches. The photos will be used for all team marketing - possibly including social media, flyers, calendars, magnets, college recruitment, and program announcements. There will not be a makeup day for Media Day, so it is important for all sixth-twelfth grade players to be in attendance.
