This years's National History Day theme was Breaking Barriers in History. Congratulations to the following Shorecrest Upper School students who had a great showing at the Pinellas County History Fair:

Do you want to get ahead on History Fair for next year? New this summer - History Fair Boot Camp at Shorecrest! Get an early start on a major project during this Shorecrest summer program. With the guidance of history teachers Mr. Hodgson and Mr. Heller, prepare projects for next year's theme: Debate and Diplomacy in History. Camp runs July 13 - 17, for students rising into 7th - 10th grades.

In the Boot Camp you will learn how to:
  • pick a winning topic
  • diversify research between primary and secondary sources
  • enhance writing skills
  • secure interviews
  • understand the requirements of different categories of entry
The camp will be divided between classroom time and field experiences at:
  • USFSP Library
  • Tampa History Center
  • St. Petersburg History Museum
  • St Pete's Preserve the 'Burg
