Shorecrest School

SPOTLIGHT ON: Movie Night Presenting Sponsor, Woodie’s Wash Shack

Alumni Contributing Chargers

Shorecrest’s mission is augmented by the generosity of our parents, grandparents, alumni and friends who support the School through their time, talent and philanthropic support. We call these community members Contributing Chargers.

SPOTLIGHT ON: Movie Night Presenting Sponsor, Woodie’s Wash Shack

Not only is Woodie’s Wash Shack owned by a Shorecrest family, there are also three Chargers alumni working for their marketing team - Jake DeGeare '15, Avery Cutro '15 and Chris Lovesky '15. Chris is also the assistant coach for the Chargers Varsity Boys Soccer Team.

Jake, Avery and Chris joined the Community Movie Night on Friday, February 24 with the rest of their team and brought some EPIC fun! We asked these alumni what it means to them to give back and partner with Shorecrest through their business.

“Simply put, Shorecrest is where I met, grew up, and learned with my best friends,” shared Jake DeGeare '15. “Because it’s not a massive student body, you get really close to everyone else in your class. By the end of Upper School, we all really felt like one big family. Apart from the great relationships forged on campus, I don’t think I truly recognized the quality of education I received until later in college and even in the workforce. Shorecrest ingrained in me a work ethic, intelligence, and demeanor that I’ve carried with me ever since.”

“One thing I always loved about Shorecrest is the close-knit community,” agreed Chris Lovesky '15. “This is also represented in our alumni community today. People always say you won’t talk to people from school after so many years, but my experience has been the opposite. I still talk to so many people from my time at Shorecrest, and the fact that Jake, Avery, and myself are all working together now is a testament to the kind of community that we’re building. I just hope the three of us can serve as an example for the younger generations to stay connected! Our alumni community is one of the greatest resources we have.”

Avery Cutro '15 added, “To us, giving back as alumni means having the opportunity to give back to the community that helped shape us. It is also a way for us to show our appreciation for the education we received and allows us to make a positive impact by contributing to the education and development of future leaders and innovators in our neighborhood. We are very grateful to call ourselves Shorecrest alumni and be a part of such a wonderful community!”

The owner of Woodie’s Wash Shack - also a Shorecrest parent - said, “Shorecrest and Woodie’s Wash Shack are the perfect partners as both strive to achieve excellence in their field! Many of our customers and their families are in attendance at Shorecrest and we at Woodie’s are humbled and appreciative of partnering with such an excellent institution!"

Woodie’s has an exclusive offer for the Shorecrest community: $10 off a monthly membership, with no expiration date, for as long as you hold the membership. Enter “Shorecrest” in the company field to redeem: https://www.woodieswash.com/exclusive
