Chargers vs Academy at the Lakes, 11/21, 75-50 Win
The Chargers came out strong, going up 22-13 at the end of the 1st quarter and led 51-29 by halftime. All 11 guys on the roster got significant time and 9 players scored on the night
Brady G. led the team in scoring with 18 points, Marcus B. had 12 points on 6-6 from the field, Devin F. had 11 points and Tyee J. had 10 points and 4 steals.
Chargers vs Jesuit, 11/25, 70-51 Loss
Shorecrest loses a tough non-district game at home. Shorecrest went into Jesuit last season and stunned the 5A Boy’s school by one. This game was shaping up for a similar finish as the Charger’s came back from a 27-24 halftime deficit to lead 44-40 late in the 3rd quarter only to let Jesuit come back and tie the game at the end of the third at 44. It was all Jesuit as the Charger’s played undisciplined and without their normal furious energy when the game is on the line.
These tough games will serve the team well as we head into district play and build the team unity necessary to play at a higher level. On the night Brady G had 13 points, Marcus had 12 and Devin F. had 9 on 3-3’s.
Brady G. led the team in scoring with 25 points, Kent K. added 20 and Marcus B. had a double/double with 10 points and 13 rebounds.
Chargers vs Northside Christian, 12/2, 77-68 Win
Shorecrest wins their first district game of the year, but not without being tested!
We jumped out to a 23-14 first quarter lead and were up by 16 mid-way thru the 2nd quarter. Colin H. had 2-3’s and Kenny D had 2- 3’s to spark the Chargers. But then we let off the gas and Northside closed the gap to 45-34 at halftime. We came out flat to start the 3rd quarter and into the 4th and let Northside briefly take the lead. Just as things were slipping away, Marcus found Colin on a slip screen and had a couple strong finishes to get the lead back to double digits. Colin H. had 9 points in the quarter and 19 for the game to pace the Chargers, Marcus B. added 14 points and 8 rebounds, Brady had 13 and Tyee- 12 for the Chargers.
