The US Spanish Club End of the Year Luncheon was held in the Rec Gym on Tuesday, April 14, 2015. Amanda Griffin of The Children's Dream Fund was present to accept a check for $2,500. This money will help send Giulianna, our adopted child for the 2014-15 school year, take a Disney cruise. Giulianna was diagnosed with a life-threatening genetic disorder at birth and has been in and out of hospitals her entire life. Eating Mickey Mouse ice cream, meeting princesses and spending time in the crystal blue waters of Castaway Cay will be a much needed break from her normal routine!
Club President Milan Shah presented the check to Ms. Griffin; and she gave Milan a plaque with a photo of Giulianna. The plaque will be displayed in the glass case in the Landy Hall Lobby.
During Ms. Griffin's talk to the club, she reported that, over the years, the US Spanish Club has donated over $25,000 to The Children's Dream Fund! The total is an awesome reflection of all the hard work the students in the club have done to better the lives of many St. Petersburg area children. As always, the Spanish Club is proud to be a member of the Kids Who Care network of the Children’s Dream Fund.
