The third and fourth graders closed their school year with a fantastic project called FERIA LATINA. They researched countries in Latin America and learned about their traditions. They learned what each country was famous for, a traditional game played in the country and about their food.
Groups then prepared a booth for their country and a presentation about the country they represented in the fair! They also hosted the fair and invited first grade, second grade and kindergarten.
Latin American parents and grandparents were included as well, and for a week they visited our classroom and made traditional crafts from the countries with students.
The process of putting this project-fair together was beautiful and everybody had lots of fun, but the most important thing was that students learned a lot and practiced their Spanish in a very fun way!
