Congratulations to junior Charlotte L, whose play, LAZY BOY, was selected for the Blank Young Playwrights Festival. Her play will be produced with professional actors and a director in Hollywood, CA, this June. She will spend a week of rehearsal at The Blank Theatre, and then enjoy a weekend of performances.
The Blank Theatre Young Playwrights Festival is a 23-year-old nationwide playwriting competition for writers ages 9 to 19. No other national competition awards young playwrights with seeing their vision come to life on stage in a professional production.
Charlotte's play was also one of five high school works selected for inclusion in the Neil Labute Festival of New Plays in St. Louis at the St. Louis Actor's Studio. It will be given a public reading during the festival in July.
