Mixing Chemical "Potions"

Shorecrest seventh graders had fun exploring chemical reactions in Ms. Parrott's class by performing a 5-station Science Wizard-themed Potions Chemistry lab activity. Each student received a “Spells and Potions” booklet where he or she followed directions for each station, recorded observations, and wrote about the science happening in each activity. The concepts covered while mixing potions included: density, pH, chemical reactions, miscibility, and catalysts. It was a great way to kick off a fall unit on chemical reactions.
