Seventh Grade French Chefs

This week in French class, Shorecrest seventh graders learned about French dishes, prepared them at home and shared them at school. They enjoyed such classics as bûche de Noël, quiche lorraine, soufflé au fromage, profitéroles, gougères, macarons, crêpes, gâteau de crêpes, mousse au chocolat, éclairs au chocolat, meringues and fondue au chocolat.
Upper School English teacher and Shorecrest parent, Kristie Dowling, graciously demonstrated how to make crème brûlée with a cooking torch for the class. All the dishes were delicious; some were perfect interpretations of French recipes!
"Many thanks to the parents for helping your children," praised Mme Simon. "We had a fantastic time sharing, talking and eating - which is such a quintessential French activity."
