Varsity Boys Tennis in Regional Semi-Finals

The Varsity Boys Tennis Regional Semi-Finals match ended Tuesday with a 4-1 loss to Tampa's Berkeley Prep.
The doubles matches were played first and the number 5 boys position. Leading the team at the #1 doubles was junior Stefan Bilanovic '24 and 6th grader phenom Alex R '28. The Chargers’ only win came from this team as they defeated Berkeley's number 1 team in a nail biter third set match tie break, 7-5, 6-7 (4), 10-5.

The number 2 doubles team of Misha Drunov ‘24 and Sasa Bilanovic ‘25 fought hard but lost 1-6, 1-6. The 5 singles, Ryan Majeski ‘25, also put up a valiant effort but lost 1-6,1-6. The Chargers went into the 3 and 4 singles matches down 1-2 in total match points with Misha Drunov and Sasa Bilanovic. Misha playing at the 3, lost 4-6, 2-6 and Sasa at the 4 lost 4-6, 0-6. This gave the Berkeley team a 4-1 Semi-Finals win and a berth to the Regional Finals on Thursday.
Coach Davis said he was “exceptionally proud of the boys team this year.” They are a team that surprised him with their Regional Semi-Final advance this season despite health and conditioning challenges.
