Sinai Dunbar ‘25 named Suncoast Youth of the Year

Home Page Upper School News

Congratulations to Sinai Dunbar ‘25 who was named 2023 Youth of the Year by Boys & Girls Clubs of the Suncoast’s Royal Theater Club. Sinai competed with her peers and will represent the organization at the State Competition. If she wins, Sinai will move on to the Regional and, potentially, National levels. She can earn scholarship money along the way and have the opportunity to connect with Boys & Girls Clubs members from across the country.

For 75 years, the Youth of the Year program has honored and celebrated the nation’s most inspiring teens and their incredible journeys. Stories of outstanding leadership, service, academic excellence and dedication to living a healthy lifestyle have made Youth of the Year America’s premier leadership and recognition program for teens.

Each year, one exceptional Club member is selected to be the National Youth of the Year, serving as an ambassador for Boys & Girls Club youth as well as a voice for all of our nation’s young people. Over the decades, these individuals have exemplified the Boys & Girls Club mission and are proof of the impact Clubs make in transforming and saving kids’ lives. National Youth of the Year winners have achieved success in a variety of industries, including entertainment, politics, business and sports.

Sinai has been attending the Royal Theater Club for 11 years. Her favorite Club activities include helping out with the "Littles" and completing tasks for the staff. Last summer she participated in the Future Leaders Program.

"I met people at the Club who make me feel like it's okay to be myself. Always stay true to who you are. Everything that makes you different makes you unique."

Good luck Sinai on your journey to the National Competition! Congratulations on being recognized for your hard work and dedication.
