Contributing Chargers: Meghan and Jacob Coyle of Marine Max

Contributing Chargers Lower School News

Shorecrest’s Mission is augmented by the generosity of our parents, grandparents, alumni, and friends who support the school philanthropically or by effecting change locally, globally or right here at Shorecrest. We call these community members Contributing Chargers.

Meghan and Jacob Coyle, along with their daughter Catalina '35, a current first grader, joined the Shorecrest community in 2020. They expanded their family's presence at Shorecrest when their youngest children, Krue '38 and Saylor '38, began Alpha earlier this year.

For the second consecutive year, Jacob and Meghan have been proud members of our Community Sponsor program, through their company Marine Max, Jacob Coyle- Boat and Yacht Consultant. Marine Max was the Wine Wall Sponsor for the Shorecrest Gala presented by American Integrity Insurance Group. Their sponsorship contributed to the success of the event and helped to support the newly created Teachers Fund.

Beyond their philanthropic support, Meghan has been actively involved in the School as a volunteer of her time and talents. Meghan has served with the Shorecrest Community Association (SCA) and has co-chaired Grandparents and Special Friends Day. She is currently a Lower School Parent Representative.

We asked Jacob and Meghan of Marine Max, Jacob Coyle- Boat and Yacht Consultant to share their Contributing Chargers story and explain why they find it important to give back to Shorecrest by way of corporate sponsorship.

What is your connection to Shorecrest?

Shorecrest has been a part of our family for the last 3 years. It is currently home to our three daughters.

What do you enjoy most about being part of this community?

The best part about Shorecrest is the community. Shorecrest creates an environment that feels like home. With family and guardian involvement at all levels, you can't help but be drawn in to be part of the Shorecrest family.

What drew you to becoming a sponsor of the Shorecrest Gala? You can also tell us a bit about your business.

We wanted to be a sponsor of the gala to support the Shorecrest community and give to our children's future. Marine Max strives to unite people by water, boating is a family activity that unites us and keeps us close as a family.

What does giving to this community mean to you?

Giving back to the Shorecrest community means more than just being a sponsor. It means we are investing back into a school that has given our children such an amazing foundation to be lifelong learners.

How do you think your gift will impact current and future Shorecrest students?

We hope our gift continues to support the mission of Shorecrest from the many new Alpha starting classes to the seniors graduating for many generations to come.

Please share something you are looking forward to as we step into our second century.

In the next century of Shorecrest, we hope to see the same if not more exponential growth, bringing more opportunities for the next generations who are shaping our world.

The impact of Contributing Chargers like Meghan and Jacob Coyle, along with other members of our community, can be felt every day. To share a Contributing Chargers story email Olivia Segalman, Associate Director of Advancement for Community Engagement & Events at [email protected]
