Shorecrest suffered a narrow loss vs highly ranked Seffner Christian. Highlights include 2 hits by Wes Ryan ‘25, a double Jake Diner ‘25, and singles by Beau LeCaine ‘27, and Eli Thomas ‘25. Ed Sax ‘27, Luke Lavoie ‘25, and LeCain pitched for the Chargers.
Varsity Baseball vs. Indian Rocks Christian: 3-5 Loss.
The Chargers collected 8 hits but still fell short to Indian Rocks. Eli Thomas ‘25 had 3 hits including a double, Wes Ryan ‘25 had a double, Jake Diner ‘25 had two hits, and Cooper Register ‘25 and Kyle G ‘28 both singled. Pitching for Shorecrest were Jake Diner ‘25, Ed Sax ‘27, and Beau LeCaine ‘27.
Varsity Baseball vs. St. Pete Catholic: 0-1 Loss.
Shorecrest lost in a pitchers duel vs St. Pete Catholic. Eli Thomas ‘25 got the only Chargers hit in the 7th inning. Like Lavoie ‘26 pitched 4 innings striking out 4, with Beau LeCaine ‘27 finishing the game striking out 3 batters.
Varsity Baseball vs. St. Pete Catholic: 6-10 Loss.
The Chargers outhit St. Pete Catholic 10-8 but still came up short in the second game of a double header. Eli Thomas ‘25 had 3 hits including a double, Wes Ryan ‘25 and Cooper Phillips ‘24 had 2 hits with a double. Also collecting hits for the Chargers were Jake Diner ‘25, Jamie V ‘28, and Jordan B ‘28. Ed Sax ‘27, Braden Stone ‘26, and Chris Booth ‘27 pitched for the Chargers.
Varsity Baseball vs. Lakewood 9-1 Win!
Shorecrest Chargers Varsity Baseball ended the regular season with a big win against Lakewood. Charger bats were on fire! Wes Ryan ‘25 collected two hits including a home run, Eli Thomas ‘25 had 3 hits with a double, and Tommy Murphy ‘25, Jake Diner ‘25, Carson Granese ‘25, Braden Stone ‘26, and Jamie V ‘28 each had hits. Pitching was strong with Cooper Phillips ‘24 going 6 innings giving up only 1 run striking out 8, and Thomas finishing the game with 2 strikeouts.
The team moves on to the District Quarterfinals vs. Admiral Farragut at Home on Hernandez Field on Monday, April 29 at 4pm. Entry is $8.
