US Robotics Wins State Championship
This season marked a significant period of growth for our Upper School robotics program, as we introduced three new teams—6104 A, B, and G—comprised of both seasoned and new members. Under the exceptional student leadership and mentorship of Patrick Meng '25 and Gaston Grehan-Savona '26, all three teams achieved remarkable milestones.
Team 6104B successfully engineered a robot that, by season’s end, was adeptly programmed and scoring, leading them to multiple semifinal appearances.
Team 6104A distinguished themselves by finishing as runner-up tournament champions, securing second place alongside their alliance against some of the South’s top teams.
Team 6104G’s accolades are particularly noteworthy. After competing in numerous tournaments, including a Signature Event in Hershey, Pennsylvania, and the Florida North/Central State tournament, they amassed four awards: two Design Awards and two Innovate Awards. Their remarkable performance culminated in winning the State Championship, which earned them coveted spots at both the CREATE U.S. Open Robotics Championship in Council Bluffs, Iowa, from March 27-29, 2025, and the VEX Robotics World Championship in Dallas, Texas, from May 6-8, 2025.
These accomplishments are a testament to the dedication, ingenuity and collaborative spirit of our students.
